With the vast amounts of health information generated every year, how do health care professional keep abreast of new developments in their field? Alerts can help keep your knowledge current.

  • Journal Alerts - Often called eToC's or Tables of Contents Alerts. Get alerts to new content from your favourite journals delivered straight to your inbox. This works best if there are a limited number of journals with high relevancy for you.
  • Subject Alerts - Receive alerts for newly published material on your chosen topic from multiple journals. This is a good option when the relevant literature is dispersed across numerous journals.
  • Contact the library if you need help to set up alerts for yourself or your team.
  • OR set them up yourself using the information included in the Journal Alerts and/or Subject Alerts guides.
Alerts are received via email. A subject alert will include the search strategy and a link to the articles found in the OVID database it was set up in. A journal alert includes a search line for that journal title.
